لایحه پیشنهادی قانون مجازات اسلامی* که در مجلس در دست بررسی است، تهدید جدی برای امنیت جانی شهروندان بشمار میرود. در این لایحه جرمهای جدیدی تعریف شده که مجازات اعدام دارد، از جمله ” ارتداد” و توهین به مقدسات مذهبی و سحر و جادو. برخلاف وعدههای مسئولان، حکم سنگسار در این لایحه همچنان پابرجاست، اعدام کودکان منع نشده، و صدور حکم اعدام نیازی به شاهد و اثبات جرم ندارد! بلکه ذهنیت منفی شخص قاضی یا یک عده از شهروندان معمولی نسبت به متهم کافی است که در نبود هیچگونه دلیل و شاهدی برای اثبات جرم، فرد متهم به اعدام محکوم شود.
در اواخر دی ماه سال 1382 با پایان یافتن کار ساختمان مجتمع مس خاتون آباد در شهر بابک کرمان ، حدود 200 نفر از کارگران این مجتمع اخراج شدند .
در اعتراض به این اقدام کارفرما ، کارگران اخراجی همراه خانواده هایشان دست به اعتصاب و تحصن زدند . پس از به نتیجه نرسیدن اعتصاب و تحصن ، کارگران اقدام به بستن جاده خاتون آباد – شهر بابک کردند.اما نیروی انتظامی با اعزام چند فروند هلی کوپتر از کرمان ، کارگران را پراکنده کرد و این اقدام اعتراضی کارگران به نتیجه نرسید . در نتیجه کارگران به ناچار در مقابل فرمانداری شهربابک تجمع کردند . اما این بار تجمع کارگران به گلوله بسته شد که در طی آن چهار نفر از کارگران به نام های ریاحی ، جاویدی ، مهدوی و مومنی کشته شدند .

کانون نویسندگان ایراندر شماره 28 مجلهی «شهروند امروز» (یکشنبه 18 آذر 1386) مطلبی آمده است از محمد قوچانی زیر عنوان «زوال رهبری روشنفکری ادبی» که سراسر حاوی افترا، پاپوشدوزی، پروندهسازی و به خیال خام نویسنده، دوبههمزنی و تفتین در میان اعضای کانون نویسندگان ایران است. هجوم به کانون نویسندگان ایران، یگانه نهاد مستقل نویسندگان آزاداندیش و استبدادستیز طی چهل سال گذشته، مطلب تازهای نیست. در این چهل سال، ارکستر هماهنگ ساواک، «کیهان»، «هممیهن»، «شرق»، «گفتگو»، پادوهای امنیتی و تلویزیونهای درون و برون مرزی تا توانستهاند نوشتهاند، گرفتهاند، بستهاند، به زندان انداختهاند و سرانجام وقتی با این همه تیغشان نبریده است، کشتهاند، اما هرگز نتوانستهاند کانون را خاموش کنند.

End the Siege of Gaza: Ceasefire Now
